Yosemite
National Park:
Yosemite National Park, one of the first wilderness parks in
the U.S., is best known for its waterfalls. But within its 1170 square miles,
deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness and
captivating wildlife also exist. Situated in California's Sierra Nevada
mountain range, Yosemite's peaks soar to above 13,000 feet above sea level.
Visitors flock to Yosemite Falls and Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Climbers and
hikers tackle Yosemite Valley. A free shuttle links parts of the park.
